Get Certified to Teach EFL ESL Worldwide

I taught English in South Korea for one year, five years in Thailand. Think about it... what would it be like to spend your gap year, six months or a year teaching English in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Germany, Rome, Paris, Viet Nam, Thailand or other country of your choice? Chances of getting a better paying job can be improved when you have a ESL or EFL teaching certification.

What is a ESL, EFL teaching certification? The certification is an acknowledge by an education provider that you have completed a course involving teaching English as a second language (ESL) or teaching English as a foreign language (EFL).
The coursework often includes
  • teaching strategies
  • classroom management
  • lesson planning
  • teaching pronunciation skills
  • grammar
  • varities of teaching actvities
  • interpersonal communication
  • cultural sensitivity
  • actual class teaching hours (in class or online)
  • and other factors related to teaching English
The instruction given during the certification process helps new teachers to:
  • build confidence
  • develop teaching skills
  • learn what will be expected of them in class
and much more.

There are a wide variety of EFL ESL teacher certification education providers available. Do some research by comparing features and prices. I have provided numerous resources below. Some EFL ESL certification providers provide better certification courses than others. Many companies offer teaching certification on-site while others offer certification courses online. Some certification providers offer employment at various locations after the English teacher certification course has been completed.
With an EFL ESL teacher's training certification on your resume' your prospect of getting a better paying position teaching English improves substantially.

One of the most popular countries to teach in is South Korea. Monthly salaries range around $2,000 per month with housing included at no charge. Airfare inbound and sometimes round-trip is also offered by various employers. After you have obtained a job your employer, a language institute, will send you out to teach at various domestic or international companies in Korea. You may also be assigned to teach at elementary, high schools or universities. Each employer has different needs. The type of teaching you will be assigned to do is very often described in the job announcement. As an example see the recent ad below for employment in Korea:
